ANICENT ART OF SRI LANKA .

Evidence that art existed in ceylone even before Vijaya come to the ceylone can be seen in historical works .Then the art took on a new face due to the Kohobakankariye done with vijaya illness. Chronicles such as the mahawanshaye , thupawanshaye ,and deepawanshaye also beautifully illustrate the arrival and departure of ceylons art Dance, Singing and Art play prominent role in the art of historical art .

When talking about the historical art of our country , We should talk about the traditional objects such as Isurumuniya ,  Sigiriye ,Kuttam pokuna  , Yapahuwe and the creationsmade during the ANURADHAPURA , KOTTE , POLPNNARUWE , DABADENIYE , eras .

 

ISURUMUNIYE-

Isurumuni viharaye was built during the kotte period.The ISURUMUNI PEMYUWELA occupies a large place there.You can see how the person whi created this carving show Parwathi and Shriwe in it.There were people in the kotte era who were artisitic enough to create something like this large rock.The royel family ,seatedc man and elephant and etc build by the rock.these creations, made in the fifth century are still talked about by all because of its superiority.

sigiriya-

Created by king kashshapa in the late 5th century, sigiriya become a world heritage site due to its height of artistry. 5th century man was intelligent enough to turn a large rock into a beautiful place. Art can also be seen in the sigiiya murals , lion feet , sigiriya kurutu gee and sigiri ponds are there things we can saw verry beautiful arts. we can conclude from the paintings of sigirilalanawan that there wew dances at that time .sigiri kurutu gee also highlights the people of that time .
